Mosaic by definition is from the Latin tessera plural tesserae, a small square tile. The unique production method used to manufacture this series in a modern easy to install tablet of mosaic involves creating each piece of the mosaic tessera by forming a grid into the body of a 13 In. x 8 In. tile which cuts a grout joint through the glazed surface into the vitreous clay body of the tile itself. This provides an excellent anchoring point to which grout compounds will adhere. Once the tiles are set the joints are completely filled with non sanded grout. This rich coffee colored mosaic has a wonderfully pillowed structure. Each individual tessara (60 on each piece of tablet) being convex and forming from grout joint level to a high crest in its center. The glaze has a highly reflective luminescence and contains microscopic speckles of quartz which have the delightful effect of causing light to dance off the radius of its surface. This jewel of a mosaic is an ideal back splash to Quartz work surfaces, it will create a perfect bathroom and shower compliment. A marked difference in the final effect of this deeply glazed tile will be made by the choice of grout color. A bright white grout will accentuate the mosaic structure leaving no illusions to the opulent finish of the material itself. On the other hand a complimentary grout color will disguise and soften the grout lines and offer the effect of a seamless quilted finish.
